Hi everyone and happy Friday! This is going to be short, as I'm writing it well in advance. I just wanted to share with you my finished Tardis Tart Ombre sock (I hope to make the second one at some point soon!). I hope you all have a great weekend and stay cool, as it's warming up here!
Materials:
Yarn: Candy Skein Yummy in Tardis Tart Ombre
Needles: US 1.5/2.5mm
Pattern: I just made up a basic 2x2 ribbed sock with 64 stitches. I used the Eye of the Partridge heel.
Holy smokes, 150 Work in Progress Wednesdays. That's incredible, right? I never thought when I started doing this I would still be doing it 150 weeks later. Crazy.
This week I'm working on a new sock. It's my go to pattern when I don't want to do something fancy but want a little more than a regular vanilla sock. It's Hermione's Everyday Socks and this is the 3rd time I've made them. I'm making it because I'm testing a new yarn I'll be carrying for Candy Skein soon! It will be called Savory Fingering and so far I like it! It has a twist similar to Tosh Sock and is a 80/20 merino superwash/nylon blend. I figured I'd make a pattern I"m really familiar with so I can compare this yarn to Yummy fingering. Don't worry, Yummy fingering won't be going away, this will just be a new option!
That's it for me. I'll be writing FO Friday tomorrow as we're headed to LA for a Neil Gaiman talk/signing! I can't freakin' wait!!!

Happy Friday. This week I'm very happy it's Friday, despite having to work this weekend. It's felt like a long week for me for some reason. Unfortunately this post is going to be short as I haven't been able to work on my sock since Wednesday afternoon. I'm starting the toe decrease, so probably only about an hour's knitting, but I worked late tonight (Thursday) and had no energy to even comprehend a toe decrease.
I hope you all have a great weekend! In between work I hope to have a little fun, maybe the San Diego fair!
See you all next week! I'll try to post about my talk to the San Diego Knitter's Guild that's Monday afternoon!
Hi everyone! Happy Wednesday. I hope you're all doing great. Another busy week for me, as I'm preparing for the trunk show/talk for the San Diego Knitter's Guild. I've also been updating the stock on the website, so if you've been waiting for a certain color in Yummy fingering or Sweet fingering, it's probably back in stock, including Tardis Tart Ombre!
Please excuse the pajama pants! HA! At least they're Candy Skein colors. ;) As you can see, I'm about half way down my foot. It's the easy, yet boring knitting part. I kept the 2x2 ribbing continuing on the instep, and then just stockinette on the bottom of course. I used the Eye of the Partridge heel and love how the yarn patterned itself over it! I really do love this sock!! Again, this is Yummy fingering in Tardis Tart Ombre and using 64 stitches with a 2.5 mm needle (US 1.5). I'm trying to finish the sock as a sample as I mentioned, for Monday. So far so good! Because I have a deadline, it's all I've been working on lately, so that's it for me today.
I'll see you Friday, hopefully with this sock finished!

Hi everyone! Happy Friday and weekend! I hope you all had a great week. I had a very busy one as I mentioned on Wednesday. I'm definitely ready for the weekend. I wanted to thank all of you for all the encouragement you send my way regarding my talk for the Knitting Guild. It really helped me calm down about it a little bit. :)
I don't have a finished project today unfortunately, but I can't wait to see all of yours! I do try and visit a lot of the blogs that post for WIPW and FOF when I have time, even if I don't get a chance to comment. The projects are so inspiring!
Have a great weekend and I'll see you all next week!
PS. Totally off topic but I've been receiving a ton of spam comments lately on the blog. Does anyone know how to make that stop!? It's driving me crazy.
Hi everyone. I hope everyone is doing good. I've been crazy busy and haven't had too much time to do much else. I'm not sure if I've mentioned this yet, but if you're in the Southern California area on June 24th, I will be speaking at the San Diego Knitting and Crochet Guild in Poway, CA at 1pm. I'll also have samples and will be selling yarn! Come if you live in the area. The more the merrier, that's for sure. I'm nervous as all get out!
The reason why I bring this us now is because I am knitting a sock for the occasion. Yes, sock, not plural. I've been meaning to knit a sample with Tardis Tart Ombre in Yummy fingering since I dyed the yarn and what a better time than now? I hope to finish this in time for the trunk show, as I have a feeling I'll get a lot of people asking how the yarn knits up.
This is what it looks like in the skein! (this was a different dye lot than the knitting above)
I have to say, I ADORE how it is knitting. I'm just doing a basic 2x2 rib on a size US 1.5 needle. The different shades of blue (and white) are spiraling around the cuff like a vortex! How very Doctor Who!!!
I hope you have a great rest of the week. That's it for me today!

Hi everyone. I hope you have awesome stuff planned for the weekend! We've going to Ink N Iron on Saturday and probably just hanging out on Sunday, as we'll probably have to recover from Ink N Iron!
Today I have the June Woodland Sampler cross stitch square by The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery.
Adorable right!? The lightning bug swirl is sparkly gold! I hate working in the sparkle thread but love how it turns out in the end.
That's it for me today. I hope you all have a great weekend!
Hi everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend. We had a quiet one at home with not much going on. Unfortunately I didn't do any knitting, as I was rocking on my cross stitch! One of them, the June Woodland Sampler square, I finished, so I'll share that on Friday.
I know I've showed this before, but it's been awhile and I've done a little bit more. I know it doesn't seem like much, but it's slow going, let me tell you. There's a LOT of stitches on this cross stitch. I'm not sure if I've ever shown the final product (of what it will look like if I can ever finish it).
As you can maybe see, the part I'm working on is where his legs meet. The dark patch is his back leg, the lighter, his front leg and the navy blue vertical banner looking thing is one of his coat tails. As I said, this thing is going to take me FOREVER! HA!
That's it for me today. I hope you have a great rest of your week and I will see you Friday!
