Hi guys! I hope all is well. Thank you for all the well wishes you sent along to me last week. I was crazy sick with both a cold and the flu. Talk about a downer! This week, I'm feeling much better and on the road to recovery. That means I can get back to my Christmas knitting which is SOOOO behind. That being said, I can't share with you what I'm working on again. Ack! Hopefully soon!
I hope all of your holiday shopping is going well if you haven't finished yet. :)

FO Friday 165
Hi everyone! I hope you had a great week. I'm still pretty sick, so this is short and sweet. I have a FO, but can't share it due to it being a Christmas gift. I hope you all have a great weekend.

Work in Progress Wednesday 174
Hey guys! Sorry for the lateness of this post, but I'm sick. :( I've been knitting away on Christmas gifts, even finishing one of the fingerless gloves last week. Unfortunately, I'm at the point in all the projects that I can't show them to you until after Christmas. I hope you understand! I hope if I get all of my holiday knitting done in time, I can soon work on "me" projects!
I hope you're all having a great week.

FO Friday 164
Good morning! Sorry I'm posting this late today. I hope you had a great week and have fun plans this weekend. Tonight we're going to Disneyland, so I'm super excited for that. We have annual passes and my husband works about 10-15 minutes away, so it works out perfect. Every year we each pick out a Disney ornament for the Christmas tree, so that's our mission tonight. Tomorrow we get the tree, which I'm SUPER excited about, except it's supposed to rain all day. Boooooo. Hopefully it all works out.
As promised, I have my second Hogwarts Express shawl to share with you. This time I knit it in Candy Skein Yummy fingering, November colorway, Mulled Wine. I used black matte square beads, which I wasn't sure about at first, but loved in the end.
I actually already gave the shawl to the friend it was intended for, because I wasn't sure when we'd be seeing her for Christmas. Rather early than late I say! I think it was the best reception I've ever received for a hand knit, and made my week. Not only did she adore it and praise it, she also called a few days later to express how much she loved it again. There's nothing better than that. I'm so honored she will cherish it.
That's it for me today. I hope you have an amazing weekend and stay warm!

Work in Progress Wednesday 173
Hi everyone! I hope you had a great Thanksgiving and Black Friday (for those in the US). I apologize that I didn't have FO Friday up. To be honest, my days got all messed up and forgot it was Friday with the holiday and I had family in town. I promise the post will be up this Friday and I'll actually have an FO to share!
I'm plugging along on the project you saw last week, but not too much so I didn't take a picture of it. I'm dividing my time between two Christmas presents so each gradually grows. This is my first time using Knit Picks Dishie yarn, a 100% cotton, and I will say, it's so much better than Sugar or Peach n Cream. My hands don't hurt while knitting (or at least as bad) and the yarn is just a lot silkier. The stitch definition isn't great, but when is it ever with cotton? I'll be using this yarn for one more project coming up. :)
This is a new project to the blog I believe. I'm using Candy Skein Savory fingering in Poppyseed. This is a fingerless glove I'm making for my husband (hopefully he isn't reading this). He takes the train to and from work, and his commute is long. I thought he could use these waiting for the train in the morning and night this winter. Funny enough, I was at knit group last night working on this as he texted he was freezing waiting for the train. We all had a good laugh. If he only knew. ;) This is Dustland Mitts by Stephen West and it's a very fast and fun pattern. I've only really worked on it a few hours and I'm almost finished with one mitt/fingerless glove! I only have the thumb left! It's pretty baggy on me, so I hope it fits! (Sorry for the bad picture!)
That's it for me today. I hope you have a great rest of the week and I'll "see" you here on Friday!

December '13 Colorway- Holiday Cookie
December colorway- Holiday Cookie!
Available now through December 31st!
The holidays are for the three Fs: family, friends and fun, but they’re also for a fourth F word, food! The best part of holiday food, in my opinion, is all of the baked goods. I love to bake, especially with family and friends, and there is nothing better than a piping hot holiday cookie with festive colors right out of the oven. Enjoyed with a cup of hot chocolate, tea or coffee with a circle of people you love, and holiday music blasting through the speakers, there is nothing better.
That’s why I picked Holiday Cookie as the December 2013 colorway! This awesome yarn is kettle dyed in two different layers of an oatmeal brown and bright emerald green. It would be perfect for any fingering weight project.
Colorway: Holiday Cookie
Fiber content: 75% Merino Wool, 25% Nylon Superwash
Weight: Fingering Weight
Yardage: 465 yards
Unit Weight: 100 grams
Care: Machine wash/Tumble dry low
