As I mentioned, Thursday a few great friends of mine (from my knitting group) and I went to a few yarn stores. We ended up going to three different ones (all new to me) and then had lunch by the beach. You can check out my Instagram for the pics (and to see what I bought) at @candyskein or you can check out the Candy Skein twitter feed to see the same pics! We had great fun!
I tried to take a picture of my socks on with Doctor Who in the background but it's hard to get a picture of your tv (with an orange background!)
I give you my Doctor Who socks!!!!!!!
THREE WEEKS in a row people. Can you believe it? That might just be a record for me for FO Friday!
I made them with an afterthought heel. The cuff and foot (minus the heel) is only off by ONE row in the stripes. Crazy, right?? It wasn't as hard to match them up as I thought. The heels are slightly different for a few reasons. A) it was hard to match the brown up to start the heel where it was on the first sock since it wasn't at the beginning of the brown. B) the first gusset area was a little tight, so I added a few more rows to the heel before the decrease on the second sock and also went down a few more stitches in the decrease before kitchnering the toe. Both are very wearable obviously, but I may just add a few more rows to the tighter one. Next time I do after thought heels I'll know the exact amount of rows I need to get it right for both socks, as this was my friend time.
For all my notes on how I made these socks (I didn't use a pattern), you can visit my project page where I left the notes on Ravelry!
Materials used:
Yarn: Knit Picks Felici in Time Traveler (two balls)
Needles: 2.5 MM
Pattern: No pattern. After thought heel
That's it for me! I hope you all have a great weekend!
