I was thinking of different weekly posts for this blog and and I had a great idea (or I think it's great!). I want to start a Work-in-Progress Wednesdays (WIPW) meme. The idea behind it: Every Wednesday I post what I'm working on and/or how far I've progressed (if it's a project that stretches beyond one week). It will keep me crocheting and blogging, two things I love.
Here's what I'm most excited about. I would love if we could get a group of craft/crochet/amigurumi bloggers together to do the same. Anyone is welcome to participate, as long as your WIP is a craft project. It doesn't even have to be crochet! Using Mr Linky here on my blog, we can each post the links to our WIPW posts (it can be a description of your WIP, video or pictures). It will bring traffic to everyone's blogs and there will be a central place for all the links, so it's easy to check out all the projects. I love looking at what others are working on, it's a great source of inspiration and fun.
Who's up for trying it this coming Wednesday?
(I got the idea for a WIPW meme from two blogs that I read that host a weekly post similar to this. I want to give credit, where credit is due: Alea's blog, Pop Culture Junkie and Kristi's blog, The Story Siren, inspired this idea. Thanks girls!)
I'll try and post on Wednesdays... actually this will keep me accountable to my blog. I'm sometimes so bad at updating it! Haha not sure if it'll turn out to be a Work in Progress... it'll be more like... any sort of blog post for Wednesday - whether it be something I have finished or perhaps a tutorial or just more content for my blog, or a Work in Progress too. Usually with my amis, I end up finishing the same day, or at the most 2 days! I think that's the nature of amis since it's pretty short... not like some sort of huge afghan!
ReplyDeleteHey Sharon! Awesome. Yep, feel free to post anything on Wednesday and include the link in the Mr. Linky sign-in that will be included in my Wednesday post! Pass the word around if you know anyone else who'd want to participate.
ReplyDeleteI'm up for it, but not sure I'll keep it up once school starts. Our staff meetings are usually on Wednesday, but may change to Thursday, so we'll see...
ReplyDeleteOkay just read your blog for the first time: I'm a Tammy, too, love ami's, crochet and am yarn addicted (should see my post today!) Also you live in one of my favorite cities!
Hey Tammy! Wow, are you my twin?? LOL
ReplyDeleteThanks for checking out my blog. I'm about to check our yours here in a moment. I love finding new blogs to read, which is why I thought WIPW would be a great idea.
You're welcome to join WIPW whenever you have enough time. It doesn't need to be consistent. If you get a chance to post, great! If not, no big deal, maybe next week. There will be a post on my blog each Wednesday (unless otherwise noted like I'm on vacation or something in life comes up), so you're always welcome. :)
Hi Tammy! I love this idea, I would love to participate....as long as I remember ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry I spelled your name with y not an i!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great idea! I love to share my WIPs! Looking forward to Weds!!
ReplyDeleteI'll participate! I need something to get me moving on my many works in progress.
ReplyDeleteHi. I was doing WIP Wednesdays on my blog for a couple years then, for some reason, just stopped doing them this year. This will be a great push to get me doing them again. So I'll join. I usually feature knitting, beadweaving, and cross stitching WIPs.
ReplyDeleteI would love to participate
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the blog, all. Great! So glad to see everyone interested in participating! Now I'm REALLY excited for Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteErin, don't worry about the spelling. It happens all the time. :) I've known people for several years that spell it wrong still.
Hi, this is a great idea, I'm in if you'll have me. I find I get distracted and don't talk about crafts on my crafting blog ;-). Anything that keeps me focused is good!
ReplyDeleteSuch a great idea! I've been doing this on my blog on Thursdays... maybe I'll have to consider a date change :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Susie and Stacey! Looking forward to seeing your crafts! It's nice to have something to motivate you, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteSounds like FUN!
ReplyDeleteHi Tami! I'd love to be added on the list of blogs with WipW!
ReplyDeleteThis is so much fun!
Thanks DaneMum! Just add your link each Wednesday to the open Mr. Linky to join along.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to get started with WIPW tomorrow!!! :D
ReplyDeleteCrystal, awesome! Can't wait to have you! It will be posted at 12:01 am PST and closed to links the following morning!
