FO Friday 175

Hi everyone! Happy Friday. Yes, I finally posted FO Friday! Shocking, right? Sorry I've been slacking lately. Not only am I posting a FO Friday, I HAVE a FO!

This week I'm going to share the Rondelay I made with Candy Skein Yummy fingering in Atomic Jelly Beans, the March '14 colorway. This shawl/scarf is made with all short rows and has to be one of the most fun things I've ever knit. Just as the pattern calls for, I used a size US 6 needle and a 40" cable, as at the end you have 412 live stitches. I'd highly recommend this pattern. I used one full skein of yarn.

Just a reminder, Atomic Jelly Beans and this quarter's 3 month pack (April/May/June) will only be on sale until the end of the month at Candyskein.com

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Work in Progress Wednesday 190

Hi everyone. I hope you are having a good week. Nothing exciting in my neck of the woods. I've been busy with life things and work, so haven't gotten as much knitting done as I had hoped.

I'm still plugging away on my Rondelay and on the last row! I got nervous thinking I didn't have enough yarn, so didn't actually do the first knit row of the border, but now I think I do. I debated on ripping it back and adding the row, but I don't it would really add much. Sorry for the crappy photo! I'm in the middle of the row so can't pull it out and it's terrible lighting.

That's pretty much what I've worked on! Nothing too fancy. I started the second sock of my Socks on a Plane, but it's seriously 4 rows into the toe, so not worth photographing. I did finish the 1st sock!

I'll try to post something for Friday, but will be out of town, so no promises. I hope you all have a great rest of the week and I'll hopefully see you Friday. If not, have a great weekend and see you next week!

Work in Progress Wednesday 188

Hi everyone! I hope you're having an awesome week so far. I have two projects to share today, one being my Rondelay that I'm still working on, and the second is a toe up sock!

As mentioned, this is the Rondelay pattern. It uses one skein of yarn and I'm using my Candy Skein April '14 colorway, Atomic Jelly Beans. I'm still loving the pattern, though haven't gotten as far as I'd hoped on it. I just finished the second portion and have a third left, plus a small border. I really do love it!

My second project is a new pair of socks. This is huge for me because I've never done toe up before! I decided to pick a pretty easy but popular pattern that wasn't plain vanilla but didn't have too much going on. I'm using Candy Skein Savory fingering and knitting the Socks on a Plane pattern that's free on Ravelry. So far so good, though I did the cabling that I have so far at knitting group and kept losing track of my row count. Oops! Sorry for the blurriness of the photo  (and my hand in it) but it was the only picture that the color came through at all. Most pictures made the yarn look all blue. It will be interesting to see how I like toe up. It seems big and blocky right now. I'm doing 64 sts which is what I normally do for socks. Hmmm...

That's it for me today. I hope you have a great rest of your week and I'll see you Friday!

Work in Progress 187

Hi everyone! I hope all is well. So far this week has been much better than last so that's great news.

I have a new project to share, and I'm so excited because it's with Candy Skein April '14 colorway, Atomic Jelly Beans. I've had such a hard time keeping this colorway a secret because I love it so so much!

This is the Rondelay shawlette. I have to say, it's an insanely fun pattern, goes extremely fast and is perfect for all those crazy variegated skein you probably have in your stash like I do. As soon as my friend Regina mentioned this pattern, I knew right away it was perfect for Atomic Jelly Beans! Doesn't it just scream Spring?

If interested, you can purchase single skeins of Atomic Jelly Beans, or the 3 month pack for April-June at candyskein.com.

That's it for me today. I hope you have a great rest of your week!
