I hope everyone has had a great, crafty week! I'm really excited about this week's WIPW because I started a new project!
This past week I've been obsessed with two things--my new sewing machine (which is for a later post) and a blanket I started after being inspired by Alea's Granny Stripe blanket from the Attic24 pattern.
Not wanting to buy more yarn (for now), I went through my yarn stash and (with Alea's help) picked out the colors I would use for the blanket. It was great to get a little color in my life since recently I've been working so hard on my brown and cream afghan, as well as the tweed project. Despite my husband saying it looks like a blanket for Easter Bunny land or like ice cream, I love the colors. I also love working on this blanket because I'm able to multitask since it's easy!
I just started this project this afternoon (hence the odd, dark picture since I had to take it at night). I got several rows in and realized it was curling, so this is the second go around. I was commissioned to do a 3 tiered cupcake like this one, but in dark brown, cream and pink! I plan to make it bigger than I normally do, so I'm excited to get further on it. I'm still trying to decide if I want it to have a face or not, especially since the bottom will be so dark. What do you think?
For those that are new to WIPW, to share your WIPW post with us, just fill out the Mr. Linky below. Despite it saying you must comment, don't feel as if you do. That is something Mr. Linky automatically adds. I just ask you to check out a few of the links posted to see what everyone else is working on and comment there if you can. Everyone loves feedback and a little encouragement on their projects! Also, please link back to this post in your post to get the word out! The more the merrier!
