Work-in-Progress Wednesday 53
Howdy, all! I didn't have time to post my YoP post, so I thought I would combine it with WIPW today. I hope you don't mind. I want to start the post off with a bang, since I don't have too much to share with you today. I'm going to announce the winners of the skein of Candy Skein Yummy sock yarn, and a knitting or crochet magazine. Thank you all who entered and to all for participating in WIPWs throughout the first year! I picked the winners at random (via two different people picking number) to those who commented and were eligible. Here are the winners!
Please email me at email@example.com with your choice of a knitting or crochet magazine and also what colorway of Yummy fingering you'd like me to send you from what is currently in stock!
Now onto WIPW!
I don't have a new picture of my shawl yet, as I haven't worked on it much. I messed up and need help fixing it (and advice if I should frog or not), but now I'm back on track. It's just not enough to show, so next week. It's hard to get good knitting time on this, as I'm having trouble knitting without making a mistake when I'm at a group, watching tv, etc.
The sock has grown since last week, that's for sure! I'm on the home stretch of sock 1 and it fits great for him so far! I need to do a few more inches until decreasing for the toe. Smooth sailing. Then on to sock two!
So here's the skirt. I frogged part of it yesterday to bring the pleat to a decent length. They are bigger than the pattern calls for, but I liked the way it looked. Now I'm back to working on it and happy! I moved the stitch markers to work with my pattern now, so I'm happy. We'll see how it goes from here.
That's it for me this week! Have a great Wednesday! I'll try and comment on as many blogs as possible, but will be watching my nieces today.

Love the sock, love the skirt! They are both stunning and you should be very proud of them indeed.ReplyDelete
Skirt is looking great, and I love how the man sock yarn is knitting up :)ReplyDelete
The sock and the skirt are coming along great. I noticed you are using 2 circs. Does it make any easier than using DPNs? Even for the heel? Just wondering. Thanks.ReplyDelete
I'm so glad you are back on the skirt. I can't wait to see that finished.ReplyDelete
Thr skirt is intrigueing...ReplyDelete
I am still loving the yarn for your skirt. I can certainly sympathize with projects that keep going backwards lately.ReplyDelete
BTW I can't wait to see more of your Ripening series. I am drooling over the first one!
Love the colors on your sock!ReplyDelete
Hello Skirt! So, is that the 1st pleat or have you done some others.ReplyDelete
Great progress Tami!!!! Glad you're happy with the skirt again now.ReplyDelete

Sounds like you've had a very productive week - lots of things fitting and working!
Still in love with the skirt, really would like to see you conquer it as I love that colour. Take care.ReplyDelete
Great looking socks! And I hope you don't have to frog your skirt again... Looking forward to see it done :)ReplyDelete
That skirt is intriguing. Looking forward to watching your progress.ReplyDelete
Hi! Brought over by Stacey - and happy to be inspired to post more regularly! I'm intrigued by the skirt; I keep running across patterns I'd like to try, but I talk myself out of them every time...ReplyDelete
The sock and skirt look great! I know it's disappointing to have to rip the skirt again but when it's done and you love it it will be worth all the negative progress.ReplyDelete
My first WIP wednesday !!!! really inspiring checking out everyone else's wip'sReplyDelete
I like the greens in your sock, very nice and I can't wait to see your skirt finished. I forgot to take pics last night so I'll have to do it tonight when I get home and post them.ReplyDelete
Have a lovely day! I'm off to look at everyone else's stuff.
I really, really love the yarn you are using for your skirt. Is it one of your own yarns?ReplyDelete
I love those socks! I never used to be a green fan, but since I started knitting with all these lovely yarns, it's started to grow on me.ReplyDelete
I absolutely love the colorway of that yarn you're using for the skirt! I'm a sucker for greys!ReplyDelete
Beautiful color of yarn for your sock. I've joined the group at Ravelry, A Year of Projects. What a great idea. Have a great day!
Food for Thought
I'm new here. I'll be posting my WIP later on today. I have sock envy. I started a sock ages ago and got stuck on the heel and now it's gathering dust :(ReplyDelete
I love the camo sock! Can't wait to see the finished skirt either :DReplyDelete
Why do boys have to have such BIG feet? Your sock is looking great, though. And good job hanging with that skirt. It's going to look fantastic when it's done and you'll be glad you stuck with it through all the back and forth. Promise. :)ReplyDelete
I would love to knit a pair of sock someday! My knitting skills are still very beginner so it may be awhile. :)ReplyDelete
I love the colors of your socks too! Great work
That sock is looking amazing, the colour pooling continues to be awesome as you go along, and I really love the look of the rib. (And yay for it fitting perfectly, too!)ReplyDelete
I'm sorry you ended up frogging on the skirt, but glad that you're happy with it now.
Your sock is looking great! I am so intrigued to see your skirt, looks great so far!ReplyDelete
BOY that sock's coming along, and it looks fantastic! I bow to your wicked sock-making skills!!ReplyDelete
I am sorry to hear you had to frog that skirt, but it's so good you're happy with it now! I hope it continues to make you happy. :)
Your sock is looking good!!ReplyDelete
no wipw for me this week ::pouting::ReplyDelete
your stuff is looking good, love the colors :)
Thanks everyone! To answer your questions, the skirt yarn is Knit Picks Stroll Tonal in Thunderhead and the sock is Knit Picks Imagination in Frog Prince. Also, welcome to the newbies!ReplyDelete
The more I see you post about your beautiful skirt -- positive or negative -- the more I fall in love with the pattern. Once I finish some of the other projects on my plate, I might add that to my queue!ReplyDelete
Thanks again for hosting WIPW -- it's such a great friend-finding tool!
Thank you!, Can't believe I won...ReplyDelete
You are so brave with the skirt, they scare me.
Love the sock , very nice colour! Glad to hear that the issues with the skirt are over . Wishing you smooth sailing from here on in .ReplyDelete
You have inspired me to try another pair of socks; it will give me a break from the sweater knitting, will be more portable and should get finished more quickly!ReplyDelete
And thank you for sponsoring this blog post organization. I love seeing what others are doing, and visitors to my page help me to keep posting! Muchos gracias!!! e
