FO Friday 154

Hi everyone! Happy Friday. I hope all is well with you. I don't have a FO to share today, but I do have some fun news. Unfortunately it isn't my larger news (which I get to share next week) regarding the secret project I worked on all summer, but it is still exciting.

A few days ago, the Deep Fall issue of Knitty was released. I'm happy to announce a gorgeous sock pattern, Ridley, by the lovely and talented Yavanna Reynolds is in the new issue using Candy Skein Juicy Sport. You can also see Yavanna's Ridley project page with more photos here.

This week I've added four new colors to Juicy Sport on the website and in the next few weeks there will be even more colorways available.

And these are the skeins I currently have available and ready to ship.

That's it for me today. I hope you have a great weekend!

FO Friday 122

Happy Friday and a big happy birthday to my sister! I spoke too soon on the weather, as it's getting colder and is supposed to rain for the next 4 days. I'm not complaining as I LOVE rain, especially on the weekend! Thanks for all the kind words on my Color Affection shawl! It's coming a long great, as I've been working on it the past few nights. I can't wait to show the progress Wednesday.

I finally finished my hat! I still need to block it, but not sure what's the best way to go about it. This is my first slouchy hat, and right now it kind of looks like a condom on my head, or makes me look like a cone head. Do any of you have suggestions on ways to block it so it's more slouchy and wider up top? I do love the way it knit up and love how the colorway worked with the pattern.

Materials used:

Pattern: Hinagiku Hat

Needles: Size US 6

Yarn:  Candy Skein Juicy Sport in Robin Egg Malt Ball

FO Friday 119

Hi everyone! I hope your week and the start of 2013 has been great for you. I haven't had too much time to craft this week (or at least finish anything) so no FO Friday for me today, but I did want to show you the new Juicy Juicy Sport yarn available! This is the same yarn (the two Robin Egg Malt Ball skeins available are the same dye lot) I'm using to make my hat that I shared on Wednesday. This yarn might be my new favorite and I'm so tempted to make a sweater with it!

Juicy Sport is a cabled yarn of 4 double-plies, giving a unique 8-ply 100% superwash merino yarn. Due to it being an 8 ply, it can be used in any pattern for either sport or DK weight. It is superwash and can be machine washed/dried, but to hold the integrity of the dyes, all hand dyed yarn is best when hand washed. This yarn is great for socks, sweaters, hats, gloves, mittens and more! You won’t believe the spring and squish this yarn has, and how beautifully it shows off textured knitting.

Colorways from left to right: Lemon Drop, Lemon Lime, Blue Bubblegum, Robin Egg Malt Ball

From left to right: Fudge Brownie, Mulberry, Sour Apple, Brain Freeze

Series: Juicy
Fiber content: 100% Merino Wool
Weight: Sport/DK Weight (8-ply)
Yardage: 274 yards
Unit Weight: 100 grams
Care: Machine wash/ Dry low
Price: $23
All above colorways available here!

I also have undyed skein that I can custom dye (no extra charge) in any Candy Skein colorway!

That's it for me today! Have a great weekend and happy crafting!

Work in Progress 125

Seriously? It's Wednesday again!!?? How did that happen? I feel like I just panicked a few days ago about almost forgetting a post due to a holiday. LOL I hope everyone had a safe and fun New Year's celebration. I just got finished with my New Year's Day dinner of prime rib, baked potato and peas. MMmmm, it was fabulous!

Since last Wednesday, I started a hat! Actually I started last Wednesday. It's the Hinagiku Hat from Ravelry. It's super easy, but tough at the same time. It's the Daisy stitch which I've never done, and let me tell you, it's hard to knit three together and then knit those SAME three together again! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the way this is knitting up. It's a new Candy Skein yarn base called Juicy Sport, but I'll have more on that soon. I'll be releasing the new yarn Thursday and let me tell you, you'll want to check it out. This might be my favorite base I carry as far as the Merino yarns are concerned. Oh, I almost forgot! The colorway is Robin Egg Malt Ball!

One of my favorite podcasts, the Yarniacs, is having a Self Indulgent KAL that starts January 1. You can make anything, as long as it's for yourself! How great is that? I decided to start my Color Affection shawl for the project. I'm using another new yarn (coming) to Candy Skein in the next few weeks called Sweet Fingering. It's a 50/50 merino/silk base and so so soft. It has the same twist/ply as the Delicious fingering. The colors I decided to go with are Pumpkin, Fudge Brownie and Brain Freeze (which looks bluer in the picture than it actually is. It's more of a teal).

That's it for me today! I hope you have a great rest of your week!
